Innov8tif Achieved Preliminary Readiness for eKYC of New Generation MyKad

25 September 2026, Subang Jaya – Innov8tif Solutions, Southeast Asia’s leading digital identity assurance provider, announced its preliminary readiness to support the verification of Malaysia’s New Generation MyKad, following the recent introduction of the upgraded national identity card by the National Registration Department (“JPN”).

Innov8tif is the first identity assurance service provider in the market to officially confirm readiness for this government-issued ID transition. Phase 1 of its updated identity verification capabilities is scheduled to be rolled out to customers in early October 2026, supporting organisations as they begin adapting their digital onboarding and electronic Know Your Customer (“eKYC”) processes to the new MyKad format.

The New Generation MyKad introduces changes to the physical card design and enhanced security features aimed at strengthening the security and integrity of Malaysia’s national identity document. The transition requires organisations that rely on MyKad verification as part of their customer onboarding processes to review and, where necessary, update their existing systems.

For highly regulated sectors such as Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (“BFSI”), identity verification extends beyond basic Optical Character Recognition (“OCR”). Effective eKYC processes typically involve multiple layers of verification and identity assurance to support secure digital onboarding. Innov8tif’s Phase 1 rollout is designed to support the updated MyKad format and help customers maintain continuity in their identity verification processes during the transition.
