30 September 2024, Subang Jaya – Innov8tif Solutions, Malaysia’s largest e-KYC provider, donated RM5,000 to MERCY Malaysia as a part of their Earth August campaign, to demonstrate the company’s commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles . This campaign marks one of Innov8tif’s initial steps in building a sustainable and ESG-focused corporate culture.
The landscape of ESG has significantly evolved in recent years, influencing how companies worldwide strategically create value while promoting sustainability. This shift is not limited to multinational giants but has also permeated local and domestic companies in Malaysia. Recognizing this trend, Innov8tif Solutions initiated its Earth August campaign to raise awareness and foster an ESG-centric mindset within its organization.
A Step Towards ESG Awareness: The Earth August Campaign
Starting as a two-week in-house initiative in mid-August, Earth August invited Innov8tif employees to bring unneeded or old electronic items from their homes to contribute towards a responsible e-waste handling practice. The campaign saw tremendous participation, with employees contributing various electronic items, ranging from small devices such as batteries, phones and motherboards to larger items like monitors and stand fans.
With a collective goal of collecting 30 kg of electronic waste, Innov8tif pledged to donate RM100 for every kilogram gathered to a local charity or non-governmental organization (NGO), chosen by Innov8tors (employees of Innov8tif). Surpassing expectations, employees successfully collected 32 kg of e-waste, resulting in a donation of RM3,200. Demonstrating its commitment to giving back, Innov8tif generously rounded up the donation amount to RM5,000.
Deputy CEO of Innov8tif Solutions, Tiensoon Law, shared his insights on the campaign’s purpose: “The Earth August campaign aimed not only to instill an ESG culture within our organization but also to encourage our Innov8tors to declutter their homes and appreciate the importance of responsible e-waste disposal. As a RegTech provider, we are steadily working our way to be more ESG-compliant, and this is one of our first steps.”
Partnering with ERTH and Donating to MERCY Malaysia
To ensure that the collected e-waste was managed responsibly, Innov8tif partnered with ERTH, a local recycling organization specializing in electronic waste. ERTH efficiently handled the collection and will recycle them or extend its life through refurbishment contributing to the circular economy.
The donation recipient, MERCY Malaysia, was chosen through an internal poll among Innov8tif employees, reflecting the company’s democratic approach to community engagement. The handover ceremony took place at MERCY Malaysia’s headquarters, where Innov8tif’s CEO, George Lee, accompanied by their Chief Commercial Officer, Joe Seah, presented the mock cheque to MERCY Malaysia’s Executive Director, Ahmad Faezal bin Mohamed.
“We hope that the amount donated will aid MERCY Malaysia in continuing their incredible journey of helping those in need. In the future, we aim to organize more campaigns that allow us to contribute even more to the community,” George Lee remarked during the ceremony.
A Commitment to Future ESG Initiatives
The Earth August campaign is part of Innov8tif Solutions’ broader journey towards ESG compliance, which began earlier this year. The company has made strides in tracking its energy and resource consumption, creating an ESG data dashboard that monitors greenhouse gas emissions and waste diversion.

This will include a series of initiatives designed to educate employees and local communities on sustainability practices, as the company continues to reinforce its commitment to creating a more sustainable future.
